This is Gonzalo Mardones’ sister, and her family, house. Situated in an exclusive location in Lo Curro Hill with an amazing panoramic view towards Santiago skyline, Vitacura urban district and the Andes mountain range.
The project has been conceived as a simple concrete volume perforated with holes which permit a connection between inside and outside elements. Roofed open spaces protected by the direct sunlight and winds. We wanted to realize a beautiful and simple concrete rock in the hill. A place which accommodates the family and its encounter giving value to a wonderful place in the forest.
It is the patio-house, a mysterious house, a complete wall from the outside and completely opened to its interior lighting courtyards which define the best views.
This was about build a house full of light and shadows, a house clearly divided between the parents’ area at the ground floor and the children’s area at the upper floor. The living and dining room are totally open and transparent to the marvelous surrounding geography and to the panoramic view to Santiago skyline.
